Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Injection Molding

LSR molding is the premier method for high-volume, high-precision custom silicone components. This automated process injects a two-part liquid compound into a heated mold cavity, facilitating rapid cure cycles and extreme consistency.

Liquid Silicone Rubber Injection Molding

Compression Molding

For large-scale industrial O-rings and medium production batches, compression molding offers a highly cost-effective solution. This process uses High-Consistency Rubber (HCR) preforms placed in heated open molds, which are then compressed under high hydraulic pressure.

Medical Grade Silicone

Platinum-cured for ultra-high purity. Certified to USP Class VI and ISO 10993 standards. Capable of repeated sterilization via autoclaving or Gamma radiation without physical degradation.

Food Grade Silicone

Formulated with 100% FDA-compliant materials (CFR 21.177.2600). Odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and highly resistant to hot water and steam. Ideal for commercial kitchenware and food dispensing.

Industrial Grade VMQ

Exceptional ozone, UV, and weather resilience. Maintains elasticity at temperatures as low as -60°C up to +230°C. Perfect for outdoor electrical enclosures and HVAC seals.

High-Pressure VMQ

Specially compounded in high durometers (up to 80 Shore A) with high tear resistance to withstand severe dynamic forces and hydraulic pressures without extrusion.

CAD/FEA Mold Design & In-House Tooling

A high-performance O-ring is only as good as the mold that shapes it. At Temco Rubber, we eliminate communication gaps and third-party delays by manufacturing all custom tooling in-house. Our engineering team utilizes advanced CAD/CAM software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to predict and optimize elastomer flow, compression behavior, and shrinkage rates.

What is the typical lead time for custom silicone O-ring molds and production? +

Because we maintain full in-house mold design and machining capabilities, our lead times are industry-leading. Custom prototype molds are typically completed within 1 to 2 weeks. Scaled OEM production tooling takes about 3 to 4 weeks. Once tooling is validated, typical production runs are fulfilled in under 2 weeks.

What are the advantages of platinum-cured silicone O-rings over peroxide-cured? +

Platinum-cured silicone undergoes an addition cure reaction that leaves absolutely no acidic or volatile organic byproducts, ensuring maximum biocompatibility, no taste/odor transfer, and a clear, bloom-free surface (perfect for medical and food-grade applications). Peroxide-cured silicone is highly cost-effective and offers excellent compression set resistance for rugged, non-sanitary industrial environments, but requires careful secondary post-curing to eliminate curing residues.
