Our Silicone Molding Capabilities

We deploy diverse vulcanization technologies to produce custom silicone parts with unmatched repeatability, matched to your physical geometry and production volume.

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Injection Molding

LSR injection molding is the ideal process for high-precision, high-volume custom silicone parts. Under automatic closed-loop control, a two-component liquid compound (A/B system) is mixed and injected into a heated mold, delivering flash-free, highly consistent results with extremely fast cycle times.

  • Excellent for complex geometries, thin-walled designs, and micro-molded parts
  • Unmatched repeatability with zero-flash molding and automated parts removal
  • Highly efficient and cost-effective for large-scale OEM production runs
  • Perfect for cleanroom medical environments and food-grade assemblies

Compression & Transfer Molding

For oversized silicone components, custom keypads, and medium production batches, compression molding provides an exceptional cost-performance ratio. Using High-Consistency Rubber (HCR) silicone bases, the pre-formed compound is placed into heated steel molds and vulcanized under extreme hydraulic pressure.

  • Low-cost tooling setup, making it ideal for small-to-medium production runs
  • Capable of handling oversized industrial silicone panels, bumpers, and bellows
  • Easily processes high-durometer compounds up to 80 Shore A with exceptional strength
  • Ideal for custom colored formulas and complex multi-cavity prototypes

Silicone Material Grades & Specifications

We compound and process high-performance VMQ silicone formulations to satisfy critical temperature, sanitation, and physical requirements.

Silicone Molding Material Grades

Medical & Pharma Grade

Platinum-cured for ultimate biological inertness. Certified to USP Class VI and ISO 10993. Formulated to withstand repeated steam autoclaving, E-beam, and Gamma sterilization without physical decay.

Food & Beverage Grade

100% FDA CFR 21 §177.2600 and BfR Recommendation XV compliant. Odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and highly resistant to hot oils, steam, and cleaning chemicals in sanitary fluid systems.

Extreme Temp Industrial VMQ

Maintains remarkable flexibility and elastic memory in extreme temperatures from -60°C up to +230°C. Exceptional resistance to ozone, UV, weathering, and electrical arcing.

Custom Hardness & Colors

Formulated in a wide hardness spectrum from 20 to 80 Shore A. Available in self-bonding grades for 2K composite molding, custom colors, and translucent high-clarity optical grades.

Advanced CAD/CAM Engineering & Tooling

The performance of any custom silicone component begins with the engineering of its mold. At Temco Rubber, we maintain full in-house tooling capabilities to eliminate communication delays and speed up prototype turnaround. Our design engineers leverage CAD/CAM software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate elastomer flow rates, parting line positions, and high-temperature shrinkage factors.

Through this integrated engineering workflow, we ensure that every multi-cavity tool is built to tight ISO 3302-1 tolerances. This delivers flash-free, dimensionally stable silicone parts that integrate smoothly into your dynamic mechanical or medical assemblies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find technical insights regarding custom silicone molding, material characteristics, and tooling setups from our engineering team.

What types of custom silicone parts can you manufacture? +
We specialize in a broad array of custom components based on client CAD designs. This includes industrial gaskets, dynamic membranes, custom keypads, baby pacifiers and bottle nipples, medical tubes, surgical tool handles, electrical connector covers, and custom micro-molded valves.
What are the lead times for custom silicone tooling and prototypes? +
Thanks to our in-house CNC mold manufacturing department, we offer rapid turnaround times. Custom prototype molds and first-article samples are typically completed within 1 to 2 weeks. Production tooling for high-volume injection or compression molding takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Once tooling is validated, production batches are shipped in 10 to 14 business days.
Can you overmold silicone directly onto plastic or metal substrates? +
Yes, we offer advanced 2-component (2K) overmolding and bonding. By utilizing self-bonding liquid silicone rubber (LSR) grades, we can chemically fuse a soft silicone grip, membrane, or cushioning element directly onto rigid plastic (such as PA or PBT) or metal carriers in a single operation. This eliminates manual assembly costs and ensures a durable, long-lasting physical bond.
